Im sorry to call you Billy like I know you, but I guess I wish I had friends with as much genius as you posses. I saw cocaine cowboys in 2006. I love Docs even more then fictional movies but I think that CC is the best Doc ever. You got all the facts and your getting your info straight from the horses mouth and its absolutley mesmorizing. I know you probly got this a million time already, but lets make it a billion. THERE NEEDS TO BE A JORGE "RIVI" AYALA MOVIE. This guys got 29 murders he can talk about, thats enough to make at least a 3 part series. He's handsom, charizmatic, and the fuckin guy tells a great story. One more thing. Im a child of Colombian parents. My parents came here in the early 80's late 70's are the Cowboy era. My father done, two seprate 5 year bids on cocain charges. I've got 2 dead cousins who were colombian sicarios in NY. Just like there were killings and drug dealing in FL at this era, NYC had its own Cocaine Cowboys. We had our own influx of colombian immigrants during this era and I think that story needs to be told. There are many stories like that of Rivi in NYC during this time and I think it would make an unbelievable spin off to CC. Plus New Yorkers have totally embraced this movie and I think you guys would get twice the attention in this market ($$$). I just feel like this is a story thats never been told, and i feel like you guys would be the ones to truly do it justice. Thank your time and for telling an unbelievable true story.
forever thankful.
Colombian Oscar
I recently saw Cocaine Cowboys on Showtime, and I immediately started looking for when it was going to air again as it gave me serious rush man. I gotta give you so much props it is a phenomenal doc, everything from the editing to the music was done perfectly, and I don't even know what to say about the story telling abilities of the people interviewed, they. I grew up watching Miami Vice and I was always facisnated by 1980's Miami, your doc captured all of the grittiness, exhilaration and menace of the era
"Cocaine Cowboys" and "Bastards of the Party" are my two favorite documentaries of all time. I look forward to seeing CCII
